Here's a classic and stylish 1940's - 1950's black wool car short jacket coat with a large portrait shawl collar and side slit hand pockets.

It's a great swing style jacket with no closure. The sleeves have a tapered, seamed construction. The back has more seaming and venting. No maker's label left.

Soft, thick fabric that appears to be a medium-heavy weight wool and drapes well. Smoke free home. Any questions, please ask!

Lined with a soft black acetate.

This coat has no size label left but runs to a Medium or Smallish Large.

Measurements are taken while garment is laid flat on surface, then measurements for chest, waist and hips are doubled.

Shoulders: 16"

Chest: 40"

Sleeves from shoulder seam to cuff: 22"

Waist: 42"

Length from shoulder to hem: 24"

Hips: 42"

Vintage sizes may not correlate with modern sizes.

It is recommended that you know your own measurements (bust, waist, hip) and compare those to the item's listed measurements. Be sure to add an inch or two for freedom of movement. It may also help to compare the listing's measurements to a similar item that you already own. A measuring tape is your best friend when collecting vintage clothing. I never go shopping without one anymore.

I do my best to describe items accurately with as much detail as possible. Colors may show up differently on monitors, phones and tablets. Please ask questions....I am happy to help with information before the sale. My items are vintage or antique which means they are usually NOT always "perfect". Obvious flaws will be noted to the best of my ability.
