This is a 14mm 12 point socket with a 3/8" drive. It is also often called a triple square or xzn socket.
On a MKV and MKVI VW this socket is needed for:
- removing the front struts from the knuckles, such as when changing struts or springs.
- removing the rear calipers when changing brake pads or rotors(except the R32, it uses a 16mm socket, please see our other auctions for a 16mm socket).
