The leaves are large and long lobed on a vigerous plant and retain their deep burgundy color all summer as they hang on dark stems and shade large clusters of winged pink seed or “Samura”. These photos illustrate the bamboo like leaves as they change from a brooding burgundy to bright cherry red in fall. Enjoys good sun and may be 6-7' tall in ten years.
