Description: A stunning very heavy English antique solid sterling silver Albert pocket watch chain in excellent condition and with English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1897. Lovely quality with nice chunky silver chain links and with a silver t-bar and a secure silver swivel/dog catch. Attached on the fob chains is a handsome large antique solid silver pierced medal and also a genuine Queen Victoria silver half crown coin dated 1888. It weighs a very heavy approx 93 grams, (total). Lovely watch chain.

Measurements: Measures approx 13.5 inches (346mm) in length, with a further 2 inches and 0.5 inches on the fob chains. The centre chain links are approx 10mm wide.

Date: English antique solid sterling silver with English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1897, (date letter "x") on the t-bar; the swivel/dog catch is hallmarked Birmingham 1900, (date letter "a") and there are clear lion passant silver hallmarks on all of the chain links. The silversmiths initials on the bar are "JS*" (Joseph Sewill - 1890 - 1898), the attached silver medal is English silver hallmarked Birmingham 1900 and the Victorian 1888 half-crown coin is also guaranteed silver.

Condition Excellent condition with no splits or repairs and with only minor wear on the chain links, a beautiful very heavy silver watch chain and the swivel/dog catch still works well and closes securely. The attached silver medal is a real beauty, bigger than normal size and also in great condition, small historic monogram engraved in the cartouche. Really lovely chain, still has an antique watch key attached.
