Here we have for sale a fabulous Rolex Marconi 17 jewel manual wind gents watch, presented in a stunning fancy lugs case and also in excellent all round condition.

The watch is being sold as a runner for repair on the basis that the top 'fixed' lugs has unfortunately broken off and is missing as shown in the images.  I received the watch as such but to my eye it looks like this could be down to a previous, potentially historic, repair.  This is a real shame as the rest of the watch is in superb order.

To my eye the options look to be:

1) either procure or fashion (from a spring bar) a new bar and weld/solder it onto the case

2) drill holes to fit a spring bar

3) re-case the watch

I purchased the watch with the intention of progressing one of these options but on reflection I have decided to sell the watch on as is, hopefully to someone with the knowledge or means to have the repair carried out.

As above, the watch is in working order but clearly requires repair and is sold as such.

• Case: 31mm (exc crown) fancy lugs case in excellent condition

• Crown: unknown if original (I don't believe thse crowns were signed so impossible to know)

• Movement: 17 jewel Rolex signed movement in working order (untested for timekeeping)

Unless otherwise stated, all my watches are in working order and keep time keeping to an acceptable level for a vintage watch, but as with any watch future accuracy, running, or water resistance cannot be guaranteed.  You will receive the watch shown and described, which is usually a used, vintage item - please bear this in mind and be aware the watch WILL have signs of use.  If you are looking for a perfect condition watch without a mark on it then I would suggest paying the premium required to purchase an equivalent new item.
