For your consideration is something a bit different and more unique in the Kenner Six Million Dollar Man collector’s world—a custom cutaway of your favorite bionic hero from the 1970s. You will also be receiving a bonus item as well. Here are the details:
  • SMDM Custom Diorama: head, torso, and hips that has been carefully opened and mounted on oak. This is not a working model and is meant to be a display piece to understand and appreciate the engineering that went into creating the Kenner’s Six Million Dollar Man figure, and specifically, the “bionic” lifting power in Steve’s right arm. The figure has all of the key interior parts, glued in place. The head and hips have also been glued in place and it’s a “floated” on a ¼” x 2” metal dowel, mounted on clear coated oak. This fun and unique piece is ready for display next to the rest of your SMDM collection.

Note: I will be selling a few of these and each one is unique. This one is being listed as “D.” My goal was to repurpose broken Kenner SMDM toys and give them a different life. Because they were non-functioning and/or severely damaged (melt marks, broken limbs, broken sockets), the figures are understandably not going to be perfect. The point is to showcase the interior workings, and I hope you love it as much as I do. Again, this is a non-functional figure and is meant for display only.
  • Bonus-Kenner SMDM Patent Diagrams Blueprints: copies of the original toy patent, printed on 44 lb paper, premium presentation paper in a matte finish—nice heavy weight. The sheets are 8 ½” x 11” and can be stored in a binder or framed (not included). You are getting 8 pages that detail the components of one of the most iconic, and best-selling toys ever made. From the abstract on the first page: “A doll having a moveable head, and articulated appendages movably attached to the doll’s torso. An actuator and a gear transmission system are operatively connected to one of the doll’s arms, for imparting incremental movement to the arm. The transmission can be placed in gear, or taken out of gear, by manually rotating the doll’s head. By placing the transmission in gear and manipulating the actuator, the transmission is activated so that the doll’s arm, and if desired, a light load placed in the doll’s hand, can be slowly raised to an elevated position In addition, simulated battery pack inserts are positioned in one arm, a flexible skin-like covering stretchably fits over such arm, and a wide-angle lens is positioned in the doll’s head.”
The figure represented in the patent is the true first edition with the non-removable left arm. Very nice copies of the original patent pages and if you’re a fan of the Kenner SMDM figure, you’ll probably enjoy these as much as I do. The handwritten "eBay" will not appear on your copies.

I have other SMDM and Bionic Woman toys for sale, including customized Critical Assignment Legs, and I am happy to combine shipping whenever I can.

This will be well-packed for shipping. My goal is to never make a profit off shipping, so if actual shipping costs greatly exceed the amount stated in this listing, I will refund the difference. If I’ve underestimated shipping costs, that’s on me. I try to be as accurate as possible with my description and my photos (photos are considered a part of the description). Please review the pictures and message me with questions--I will do my best to respond quickly. I will combine shipping from other auctions for items that can be shipped together. I buy and sell on eBay all the time and I want you to have a positive experience. Once you receive this item, if it doesn’t meet your expectations based on my description and the pictures, please reach out and let me try to resolve the issue. Note: I take great care in packing items, so they don’t get broken in transit. This stated, sometimes things happen that are beyond my control. If something arrives broken/damaged, you MUST take pictures of the exterior packaging as well as the interior condition. For expensive items that are insured through the mail delivery service, this is the only way a proper claim can be made. If it’s insured and you claim it arrived broken, and tossed out the packaging, I can’t be responsible for the actions of the delivery services. If you keep all the packaging and take photos, it will protect us both.
