Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin Armless “Fred” Chaise Lounge Black Leather

One of Milo Baughman’s first design proposals to Thayer Coggin during their initial meeting in 1953, the Fred chaise is a visionary, midcentury modern classic. This imaginative chaise features a wedged leg base constructed of steel paired with a thin profile upholstery frame.

This particular example exhibits a matte black leather and a polished stainless base. The piece is fully labeled and dates back to the mid 90’s. The leather has wear commensurate with age. The base also shows tarnishing.
