Hi everyone,

Up for auction is a used Leica M2 that is in need of a restoration. This particular camera was made in 1965 and has a rewind-lever (rather than rewind button) and a self-timer.

Cosmetically the camera shows no discernible dings or dents but does show a fair amount of chrome wear, mostly from the improper use of a MR-4 meter. There is strap lug wear showing on the inside and outside of the lugs. The vulcanite is original and nearly complete. An original take-up spool is included. The "screw" to the right of the frame counter shows some wear, as well as some chrome loss on the rangefinder adjustment screw up front.

Mechanically the shutter will not fire and I'm not going to force it. The first curtain looks good but I can't observe the second curtain because I can't advance the shutter. The shutter dial does turn, as well as the rewind lever and knob. The self-timer does buzz but obviously doesn't trip the shutter. The preview lever works but is a bit sticky.

Optically there is some cloudiness to the viewfinder but I don't see any fungus. The rangefinder is showing some separation around the edges. The frame lines are complete and nice.

For these reasons, this camera is listed as-is, for parts, for restoration.

Please read this description throughly and ask any questions you may have before bidding. Thank you.
