This is a Gibson Les Paul I purchased in 1979 in the Chicago area and hasn't been used for the last 20 years or so, it has a few modifications that were done in the 80s or 90s.

1. Originally cherry, it was professionally refinished to gold in the 80s.

2. The original bridge was replaced with a Kohler bridge and locking nut about the same time which allowed the used of their whammy bar. I don't think the Floyd Rose systems were available at the time and it was the 80s  !   (this did require some routing) . Original bridge is included.

3. The tuning pegs were replaced with tuning pegs off my Gibson SG shortly after I purchased it in 1979. I think I just thought they looked cooler.

4. The bridge pick up was replaced in the 90s with a Seymour Duncan humbucker although I can't remember exactly which one.

It lives inside an Epihone Les Paul hard shell case included that will be packed inside a good solid box.

Other than all that it is a genuine early 70s Les Paul serial # 127295.  If I knew then what I know now I would have left it intact but it rocked out well in the 20th century !!

Just realized this is the guitar I was playing for my Ebay profile pic from about 20 years ago !

Happy to answer any questions.

In response to a user question I just got about putting the old bridge back on , it appears that it would require that the receivers for the bridge posts in the body would need to be replaced with the original ones (I still have them) since they have a slightly different threading. I wouldn’t recommend doing it though as the routing that was done for the Kohler would become visible.
