This is a rare design of two open-mouthed flying griffins with claw feet at the bottom. They may be used to create one-of-a-kind items, such as mantle accents or surrounds, table bases, chair bases, entranceways, and much more. Each piece is hand carved with all of the wings and top block attached to the main frame. They have amazing details and character. They do have a few areas where some corner pieces and dental work are missing, etc. (see all pictures) as well as line cracks, however, it is solid and can be easily repaired as well as painted or stained any color. They were previously used on the sides of a fireplace mantle connected to other woodwork.

These statues are made of oak and are 23” tall by 5 1/2” wide and 12” deep (to wings). The top square block space measures 5 1/8” squared.
