This is a beautiful jacket: a gorgeous grey blue (see further notes on colour below as it’s not as bright denim/purply blue as it looks in some of the later photos). The leather is so squidgy super soft. I always wanted a classic leather jacket, but the simple fact is they just don’t suit me or maybe I have never felt comfortable wearing one.
I have literally therefore had this jacket hanging around for years, but only ever wore it once…to the theatre in Leeds if memory serves me well.
My daughter wouldn’t let me sell it for years but she is a size 8/10 so it’s always been too big for her.
It’s been hanging around too long now so it needs to be loved and worn! It’s time…
I sell vintage books on line (not ebay) and I am meticulous about describing flaws so here goes:
This jacket was bought from the Harrogate branch and was sold to me at a discount as there was a scratch to the leather on the front, top left panel near the shoulder (see photo 5). It’s 1cm long and a few mms wide.
Over the years an ever so slight dint and a few tiny minor marks have appeared on the bottom right panel near the bottom of the zipper (see photo 6). I think the zipper might have caused this wear rubbing on it? It is on the layer that would be covered if zipped. The marks are tiny and really minor.
There is a very slight split (mms) to the top of the left hand pocket edging, with some slight wear to the stitching (see photo 7).
If you find any other marks they will be extremely slight and rare. I have gone over the jacket with a fine tooth comb and would be extremely happy with this description if I was buying it.
There is some fading to the leather on the bottom edges, cuffs and collar (the extremities) but I think this was there at purchase and is meant to be part of its charm. Again it’s extremely light fading/rubbing.
The cotton interior is clean and unmarked. No bobbling or wear at the armpits as it’s only been worn once out.
The zippers all work and are a silver, metallic colour. They are not super shiny silver but a lovely subdued matt colour.
It’s extremely clean with no apparent smell.
So generally this jacket is in a very good plus condition with the initial scuff there on purchase.
Colour: the jacket is a subdued, gorgeous, muted blue gojng towards grey colour but definitely blue. It is not as denim blue, lavender or bright as it looks in photos one and two and a few later photos. I think a muted petrol blue would be a good description. It is definitely not bright or garish but a very classy shade. I can send more photos on request.
The original price of this jacket was £375 (I got a discount). It was bought approx. 8-10 years ago - I really can’t remember exactly when.
