This plant is quite easy to grow, as long as you know a bit about cacti. The Astrophytum Myriostigma on the other hand, don't mind intense sunlight. If you grow these cacti in heavy shade they don't do well. It will elongate and will soon rot. I use a minnow seine to shield from evening sun. I let the plants get to outside temperature in the summer. So they can take a lot of heat! They can take winter temperatures above freezing only with soil dry.

They flower vigorously in the spring and summer. Winter over in a building with some light for best results. I don’t water my plants from around November until they start to grow in the spring about March. Over winter in a building with some light.

They grow well in any cactus mix. I plant in peat moss, perlite and big grained sand or other type of media that does not absorb water. Equal amounts. They do not like to stay wet and will rot. Under watering does not hurt it. Very loose fast draining soil is required. If soil is not loose enough add more perlite. The plant is adapted to bright sun in central Texas. However, shade it lightly for a week after receiving it.

I grow all my own plants. If you have questions about growing them, please do not hesitate to ask.

Plant is in bloom and they may fall off during shipping or if it does not sell fast, blooms will dry up.
