Lift supports loose pressure over time, even sitting on shelves in most auto parts stores and many of the inventory liquidators on eBay. Our business is lift supports, and we sell newly produced units, keeping our inventory fresh and rotated. Quite a few vendors on eBay are advertising Stabilus part numbers but with different vendor names. Please take a moment and be sure that what they are offering is the Stabilus.

    What is our Warranty on our merchandise?

    Depending on the product you are looking at, warranties will vary. 
    Listed is our warranty on Lift Supports:

    Lift Supports for the Hood, Trunk, Hatch, Liftgate or Tailgate ( None Electrical types):

    Are covered with a Limited 1 Year Warranty!  

    A.     Provided your original purchase was for a pair (unless your application only uses 1 lift support)

    B.     These must be installed in the intended vehicle, and the unit stops working properly or to your satisfaction.  

    Lift Supports for other Automotive  applications other than Hood, Trunk, Hatch Liftgate or Tailgate and Non-Automotive applications, Tonneau covers, package delivery vehicles, vintage vehicles manufactured before 1980, All Electrical types and special projects are cover for 12 months.

    In the event the units stop performing after 180 days, then you would be responsible for shipping them to us and enclose a check for $13.90 per pair  (for shipments inside the USA*) as well as proof of purchase from us to cover the return postage, and we will then send you the replacement unit.  Please contact us for an RMA number before shipping the units.

    To Avoid the need for a warranty, try to handle your supports as noted below.

      "Shaft down" is the preferred orientation for mounting a Lift Support. An optimum design would permit the support to be oriented shaft down through its entire actuation. If this is not possible, then try to install it so that the shaft is pointing downward in the Closed Position.

    There are several reasons for this:

    1. To achieve the damping or "cushion" at the end of the Lift Supports stroke, the piston assembly inside the Lift Support must travel through oil at the end of the stroke. "Shaft down" orientation ensures that the oil is in the proper location for damping to occur.
    2. "Shaft down" orientation ensures that the shaft and sealing components are lubricated with every stroke of the Lift Support. This reduces seal wear and helps to inhibit corrosion.
    3. Depending on the application, "shaft down" orientation may reduce the rate of gas permeation through the seal, which increases the usable life of the Lift Support.

    Some reasons not to change the support orientation.

    1. Vehicles with power openers must be installed in the same direction as they came from the factory.  Sensors on the door are adjusted to work in the way they were programmed.  Installing in the opposite direction can cause them not to work properly.

    2. Some models of vehicles do not allow space for the cylinder to be reversed, and this will cause a binding when the door or window closes.  An example of this is the Ford Excursion Rear Window (or liftgate)

    Please remember that the more often a cylinder is used, the longer it will last.  Sitting dormant for any period allows the shaft to bind to the seal and eventually tear.  If the application remains dormant, open the lift supports very slowly the first time they are used.

Orders Within the 48 contiguous states will be shipped: Using FedEx or USPS at our discretion.

Orders to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Guam, Virgin Islands, and other US Territories: Will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail. (For items listed with free shipping, this does not apply to these areas)

APO, FPO, DPO: Orders are welcome, and we will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail.

International sales are welcome: They will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Duties, Tariffs, and Taxes to countries outside the USA may be billed upon delivery, and we cannot assume or cover any of these charges. Please research this before ordering.

USPS Shipping Delays to International Destinations: In most cases, orders are delivered within 10 working days and are shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Due to customs and postal issues, orders may be delayed several weeks and up to 60 working days, and we have no control over how they are handled. Please ensure that all shipping details are supplied to your address and are correct in the confirmation sent to you after placing the order.

Contacting Us: The best way to let us know if there are any issues or concerns is to send us an e-mail using the "ASK A QUESTION" link at the bottom of this listing. To be able to assist you quickly, we ask that you supply the following information.

A) The e-mail address under which the order was placed.

B) Any and all numbers or markings that are on your old supports.

C) The part numbers on the actual supports you received. (This is not the number on the package but the actual supports.)

D) The year, make, and model of your vehicle and any important details such as Convertible, with or without spoiler, or anything you think would be helpful.

Photos of the issues are also great.

Returns and Exchanges: If the return is due to an error in our listing, we will pay all shipping to correct the problem. If the return is due to an error on your part, you will be responsible for the return shipping and shipping for the correct units. If an exchange is necessary, please get in touch with us for an RGA number and return shipping address. Any items received without authorization are subject to delays and may not receive proper credit.

If the product looks different than expected, do not install it; rather, contact us with the details so that we can make sure it is correct.

Our return period is 30 days from the date you received the order, so please get in touch with us as soon as you see any issues. Products that have been damaged during installation or altered will not be accepted.

Once a return is received and inspected, we will refund or exchange the item depending on what is worked out when the RGA number was sent to you. Normal handling is 2 business days from receipt of the item. Refunds will be applied to whatever the original payment method was. It may take several days to post to your account.

Lost Or Damaged Packages: When a package is received damaged, open, or lost in transit, we must be notified within 7 days to work with the shipper to correct the issue.
