***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The quartz movement does not run. After trying a battery the seconds hand pulsates but does not move. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required with the possibility that the movement will need to be replaced.***********

This vintage 1980's Seiko Sports 100 has a lovely but not perfect matte black dial as it shows wear.  The discolored lume no longer glows after being exposed to bright light.  The red and blue ratcheting bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally, presents nicely.  The stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATER RESIST  STAINLESS STEEL  8123-6109" with "331506" stamped along the inner edge.  The inside of the case back is stamped "SEIKO TIME CORP." followed by "JAPAN A."  The crystal needs to be replaced.

The 5 jewels unadjusted Japan "SEIKO TIME CORP." stamped 8123A quartz movement with quickset day and date feature does not run. After trying a battery the seconds hand pulsates but does not move.  At a minimum a complete overhaul is required with the possibility that the movement will need to be replaced.  The quickset day and date feature works flawlessly by pulling out the non-screwdown crown to the first position and then turning it clockwise to advance the date and counterclockwise to advance the day.  The day wheel is in both English and Spanish.

This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8.5 mm.  The crystal adds no measurable thickness.

Given that the movement does not run at a minimum a complete overhaul is required with the possibility that it will need to be replaced.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  For this watch that time is now.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 18 high magnification pictures carefully, which were taken in natural light and from various angles, as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
