***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The EB 8810 manual wind movement runs for only a few seconds at a time when the time is being set and when the crown is held in the turn position. The crown does not turn more than a quarter of a wind, likely suggesting that the mainspring needs to be replaced. The date and time can be set without issue. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.***********

This vintage 1970's Sheffield Saxony Allsport has a glossy black "T SWISS MADE A" signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows wear.  The lume remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow on only the hands after being exposed to bright light.  The bezel shows wear and is bent, preventing it from rotating.  The chrome-plated case shows honest wear and oxidation.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERPROOF  -  STAINLESS STEEL BACK  -  SHOCKRESISTANT" with "GUARANTEED 5 ATM. TESTED  -  SWISS MADE" stamped along the inner edge.  The inside of the case back is stamped "SAXONY WATCH CO. SWISS" followed by "CASE MADE IN SWITZERLAND."  The crystal shows scratching.

The 1 jewel unadjusted Swiss "SAXONY WATCH CO." stamped EB 8810 manual wind movement only runs for a few seconds at a time when the time is being set and when the crown is held in the turn position.  The crown does not turn more than a quarter of a wind, likely suggesting that the mainspring needs to be replaced.  The date and time can be set without issue.  The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then repeatedly moving the hour hand between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks.  At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.

This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39.5 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8.5 mm.  Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 10 mm.

At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  For this watch that time is now.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 24 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
