This is a Belleek First Period Eggshell China Small Teapot Echinus Pattern c.1863-83. Fabulous teapot in a rare pattern. The base has the British registration lozenge which ended in 1883 - dating this item within the first twenty years of Belleek's production. Underside of lid with instructions and name D. McBirney & Co Belleek, Fermanagh, Ireland within concentric rings. Excellent original condition. The roughness of the lid's knob is the simulation of an inverted periwinkle, not any kind of damage. Width 16 cm. Height 9.5 cm.
