***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The AS 1881 manual wind movement does not run and shows no signs of ever having been serviced. Although the date wheel rolls over at 12 am and the time can be set without issue the non-screwdown crown cannot be wound. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.***********

This seldom seen vintage 1970's Tradition has a pristine black "SWISS MADE" signed dial and the lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully.  Any imperfections seen are on the crystal not the dial.  The black bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely with the lume dot complementing the dial and patina beautifully.  The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERRESISTANT   SHOCKRESISTANT   STAINLESS STEEL   ANTIMAGNETIC   SWISS MADE."  The inside of the case back is stamped "SEARS ROEBUCK CO" followed by "SWISS MADE" and "10836."  The crystal should be replaced.

The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss "SEARS ROEBUCK Co" stamped AS 1881 manual wind movement with semi-quickset date function does not run and shows no signs of ever having been serviced.  Although the date wheel rolls over at 12 am and the time can be set without issue the non-screwdown crown cannot be wound.  The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached.  At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.

This watch measures approximately 34 mm excluding the crown, approximately 37 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8 mm.  Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10 mm.

At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  For this watch that time is now.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 24 high magnification pictures carefully, which were taken in natural light and from various angles, as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
