I do not know how this is supposed to work. But when the buttons are pushed it makes sounds and there is some talking. The volume is a little on the quieter side. I put new “AAA” batteries in it. When phone is closed you push the side button and the phone flips open.

Preowned in great played with condition. The plastic toy has some paint scuffs. It looks like some previous batteries had leaked a bit inside. I wiped it out and put new batteries in it and it worked.

About 4” tall by 2 1/8” wide by 1 5/8” thick with toy closed.
