An illustrated monthly of true narrative regarding adventure, travel, customs and sport.  With astounding photographs and thrilling adventures from around the world. One of the key contributors to the magazine was Louis de Rougemont, a self proclaimed Swiss explorer who invented a variety of stories and represented them as true.  He was eventually exposed as Louis Grin and his source for some of the details in his tall tales had come from the reading room of the British Museum.  By 1899 he had been labeled "the greatest liar on earth" and travelled to South Africa as a music hall attraction.

Blue decorated boards with gilt titles and decoration are in very good condition with light bumps to corners and edges.  Gilt edged pages show minimal wear.  Pages 387 to 390 came loose from binding and were tape repaired as per photo.  Internal pages are otherwise clean and unmarked.
