The ratio of pigment to mix is relative to the amount of powdered cement in your mix, in most cases somewhere between 2 & 8% (20-80grams of pigment for every kilogram of powdered cement).
But there is no best answer to the question 'How much pigment do I need?' Some of our clients have used pigments in concentrations from 1% up to 10% anything above 10% concentration is starting to waken the concrete so 10 % is the maximum ratio
In most cases, you will need between 1.0kgs and 2.0kgs for every 25kgs bag of powdered cement. Colour of your finished product depends on a number of different factors not related to pigment itself
- The colour of the sand & aggregate and the type and colour of powdered cement ( the lighter the sand the better the result of the finished product
- White cement will always give you a colour closer to that of the pigment itself, Saying that use of white cement is better for lighter colours and grey cement for darker colours as don’t need so much to get closer to the colour target
