This rare 1st edition, 1st printing "A" copy of Ernest Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls is a must-have for any serious collector of modern literature. Published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1940, this hardcover book is in excellent condition and features special attributes such as its 1st printing and 1st edition status. The book's binding is sturdy and intact, and the text is in English. This edition is a true piece of literary history and would make a wonderful addition to any collection.

The cover has some discoloration probably due to water on the front, back, and spine near the top. The title on the spine is illegible. The whole book is a little warped. There is a ticket inside the front cover that says, “from the library of Lura and J. D. Kerr”. The pages look great and flip nicely. All of the text is legible and none of the pages are torn or creased.

I’ve also included a book of the month pamphlet about the book. See pictures.
