Octavo [App. 7 x 4 in.] Two works in one volume Contemporary German pigskin tooled in blind, featuring the heads of the Reformers with a large pictorial block of a biblical scene to each cover (Jacob's Ladder to front). The binding is prominently dated and has the initials of its original owner. Early ink annotations in manuscript to the front free endpaper, the title-page of Melanchthon and a few pages in Sabinus.
