This unit also has the option to record to a sd card. This is an excellent item for converting vhs tapes to a digital format. VHS to dvd can be done directly on the machine, or done with an hdmi capture card. It is most useful for converting vhs tapes in the highest possible quality.

It can record dvd, vhs and AV input to vhs, dvd, or sd card, or output a digital signal to hdmi.
