This is an O Scale Premier MTH Reading 4-6-0 Camelback Steam Engine, cab #654, with Proto-Sound 2.0 (Scale Wheels) 20-3359-2. This is from there 2008 release, where MTH was first trying out 2 rail wheels (Scale Wheels) and they only had a limited production of four in this version. In comparison, they made 100 in 3-rail (Hi-Rail). The attention to detail and versatility of the 2-rail version was when MTH first wanted to provide the option of having the proper scaled wheels while adding the three rail roller and couplers; for those that prefer 3-rail (Hi-Rail), but wanted to make sure everything was kept to scale. MTH no longer offers this, because it simply got too expensive to produce both 2 rail (Scale Wheels) and 3 rail (Hi-Rail Wheels). This Reading Camelback is a piece of MTH history, and I was lucky enough to get one of the four that were produced in this version. I have only test run this camelback, to insure everything is in working order. I wanted it to truly look to scale so I took the time to add Kadee® couplers, but have the original couplers in the box. Besides that, it has been in its box since the day I received it and have kept it in the proper environment to insure whoever receives this gets that “fresh out of the box experience.” I am a certified MTH technician, so if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
