It has 388 pages with original illustrations, engraved by the Dalziel Brothers. The edges of the pages are marbled to match the end papers. The original book seller stamp is on the first blank page. There is an attached fabric bookmark. 

The book measures 19.5 cm (7.5 inches) by 13.5 cm (5.5 inches).

The cover has wear to the edges and a few scratches to the leather. The front and back covers are coming away slightly at the top. The pages are in a good condition with some foxing.
