Vintage Garment CARE SUGGESTIONS:
If you'd like this 70s shirt to last another 50 years, follow a few simple guidelines:
1. Hand wash this and
all vintage shirts in COLD water with a gentle detergent like Woolite. HBARC.com
recommends washing shirts inside out to protect embroidery. Hang Dry. Or dry
clean at a reliable cleaner.
2. Use a clothes steamer
to remove wrinkles. Works like a charm.
3. NEVER put any garment
with pearl snaps in a dryer. The pearl snaps will crack or shatter from banging
on the interior metal ribs. Hang dry. If you plan to expose to sunlight to dry,
turn shirts inside out. If you have to use a washing machine, use the Hand
Wash or Gentle cycle with garments in a zippered mesh laundry bag made for
delicate fabrics. Turn shirts inside out.
4. Try to avoid yanking
your snaps open; over time the fabric surrounding the snap will weaken and
finally tear. I use my thumbnail on tight snaps, right between the male and
female snaps.
