"Polish Mausers" — according to the authors of this study, this term refers to both weapons produced in other countries, which, as a result of various historical circumstances, ended up in the armament of the Polish Army, as well as weapons produced by the domestic industry. The work addresses issues that, in the authors' opinion, have not been given due attention in previous studies in our country, or their previous interpretation does not fully correspond to current findings. The book does not contain too many technical descriptions (except for the necessary ones) concerning the functioning of the weapons, as this would duplicate the content of already existing publications. The authors focused on presenting their weapon system in such a way that the reader could relatively easily understand the differences, for example, between the wz. 1898 rifle produced in Germany and the Polish wz. 1898 PWU carbine, or between the German wz. 1898 AZ carbine and the Polish wz. 1898/29 carbine. The illustrative material was prepared in such a way that the different versions of Mauser 98 system weapons could be easily identified.
