The sword is composed of a large array of fittings, tsuba, Ito&Sageo and Saya and ray skin, all of our swords are available to be customized.
BO-HI (blood groove), blade without HI is stronger for cutting, blade with HI is lighter for practice.
All blades are regular sharp, please contact us when you need a blunt or a razor sharp blade. (It cost extra 10usd for razor sharpening and takes more time to finish)
A Wakizashi and a Tanto can be customized to mathch this katana.

ENGRAVING SERVICES

Laser engraving cost $10, Etch engraving cost $20.
Engravings on the blade toward the handle,adjacent to tsuba. Some other locations are also avaliable for engraving.
Saya hand engravings cost $20.
It takes 1-2 days more for laser engraving while 3-4 days more for etch engraving and Saya hand engravings.

WAY OF SWORD MAKING:

1.
<1>TANREN: FORGING
<2>TSURIKOMI AND SUNOBE: FORMING THE BLANK
The balde was made of 9260 spring steel,it was Fully hand forged using the most ancient method of sword making. It has been smelted and pounded (hand forged) to decrease the remain impurities of the carbon steel and better distribute the carbon to form the blank.

<1>HIZUKURI: FULLY SHAPING THE BLADE
<2>ARA-SHIAGE: ROUGH FINISHING
<3>YAKI-IRE: HEAT TREATING
The blade would be fully hand shaping, and then heat treating after grinding (rough finishing), then quickly oil and water quenching (tempering) to greatly improve the hardness and flexiblity of the balde. This way allow the layers to cool at different rates during the tempering process, The faster steel cools,the harder it becomes; this is a product of the carbon that is mixed with the steel. The slower steel cools,the softer it remains. This creats a nature mix of hardness and flexibility.

<1>SHIAGE: FINISHING THE BLADE
<2>HI AND HORIMONO: GROOVES AND ENGRAVINGS
Hand shaping the balde after the second time polished (Finishing the blade), And two long Hi (blood groove) were made on each side of the blade to create a lighter blade while swung and balance it to achive an optimal performance. Meanwhile, engraving services will be implemented in this step. (pls contact us through ebay message if you have something engrave or no Bo-hi needed on the blade.)

NAKAGO AND MEIKIRI: FILING AND SIGNING THE TANG
This blade comes with a full length Tang which greatly enhances the strength of the sword while swung. The tang will be filed to match well with the handle, and it will be signed according to your requirements. (pls contact us through ebay message if you want to sign the DATE or NAME on the Tang)

5.
TOGI:SWORD POLISHING
Fully hand polished by our experience swordsmith with more than 15 process hand sharpening work by the multiple grade abrasive stone in the most traditional Japanese craftmanship way. Making a mirror-like surface. The point of the blade is medium length.
