Please note: we have multiple Vantage cornets available for sale under
this listing. The photos attached to the listing depict just one of these cornets,
and the instrument you receive may be slightly different from what is shown
above. All of the instruments available are in excellent condition.
This particular instrument is supplied in a new Tom and Will gig bag, as seen in the photos. The gig bag may be any of the three available colours for this product (blue, grey, and burgundy).
We have a separate listing for the same instrument in an Amati hard case, of which we have only a few.
Our Comments:
These Amati cornets are high-quality, European-made instruments, originally
intended to retail for upwards of £1200. They have now been discontinued, and
we can therefore offer them at a greatly reduced price. In our opinion, they easily
out-compete all of the similarly-priced intermediate options on the market,
which are all made in China to a much lower standard.
Like its close cousin, the Heritage, Amati’s Vantage model is designed for
players upgrading from their first instrument.
Compared to a student instrument, both the Heritage and Vantage offer superior
build quality and a greatly improved tone, but both are still much easier-blowing
than a true “professional” instrument.
The Vantage and the Heritage use two different leadpipe designs, which alter
the character of the instrument: the Vantage produces a bigger sound, but it is
also a little more challenging to play.
Therefore, we would recommend this Vantage to a slightly more advanced player,
who wants to get as close as possible to the sound of a full “professional”
cornet.

Condition Description
This cornet has been fully tested and serviced as necessary by our technicians
to ensure complete function and the best possible sound.
The mechanical condition is excellent:
The valves have been carefully prepared. This involves removing any burrs or
grit from inside the casings, polishing them smooth if necessary, cleaning them
out, and lubricating the mechanism.
The valve action is excellent – quick, quiet, and reliable.
The tuning slides have been properly fitted and greased, so they move smoothly
and offer good resistance. The trigger action is also smooth and consistent.
The cosmetic condition is excellent:
These cornets may have been played briefly by potential customers, for testing
purposes. Consequently, there may be some very minor cosmetic wear, but the
overall cosmetic condition will be excellent. None of these cornets have any dents
or dings whatsoever.
Returns/Warranty
If on initial inspection you are disappointed with the item in any way, you may
return it and receive a full refund.
We will offer the instrument with a mechanical warranty for 24 months, but only
a limited cosmetic warranty. The cosmetic warranty is limited to significant
