Hewlett-Packard JetAdmin and Printer Utilities

This disc contains software and documentation for managing JetDirect

connected printers on a network.

For detailed information please refer to the documentation provided on

this CD-ROM.  

The disc directory structure consists of the following:

ACROREAD  -- Acrobat readers for Windows, Unix, OS/2; Windows versions

             support English, French, Italian, German and Spanish; use 

             the English reader to view Portuguese, Polish, Czech, or

             Russian.

DLOADMGR  -- Download manager software for installing firmware into

             JetDirect Products.  The download managers are written for

             HP-UX, Windows, SunOS and Sun Solaris;

GUI       -- Graphical user interface for Windows' operating systems.

             Run install to start; users of Unix and OS/2 must change 

     directories to UNIX and OS2WARP respectively, to start 

     the JetAdmin installation.

DOCS      -- Directory of documentation.  Hardware and Software Manuals, 

             and User Guides are available in English, Czech, Deutsch, 

             Espanol, Francais, Italiano, Polski, Portuguese and Russian.

             Documents are stored in directories using the latter language

             names. Within each directory open the Homepage :

NETWARE   -- JetAdmin and Printer Utilities software for 16-bit Windows 3.x

             operating in a Novell NetWare network.  Within NETWARE software

             is organized by language subdirectories supporting English, 

             Czech, Deutsch, Espanol, Francais, Italiano, Polski, Portuguese

             and Russian.

                         

OS2WARP   -- JetAdmin and Printer Utilities software for OS/2 Version 3.

             Within NETWARE the software is organized by language

             subdirectories supporting English, Francais, Italiano,

             Deutsch and Espanol.  

UNIX      -- Jetadmin and Printer Utilities software for Unix operating

             systems.  Software supports HP-UX, Sun Solaris and Sun OS.

WIN95     -- JetAdmin and Printer Utilities software for Windows 95 in

             all network configurations, including NetWare. 

             Within WIN95 the software is organized by language

             subdirectories supporting English, Czech, Deutsch, 

             Espanol, Francais, Italiano, Polski, Portuguese and Russian.      

WINNT     -- JetAdmin and Printer Utilities software for Windows NT 3.1,

             3.51 and 4.0, workstation and server.  The software supports

             all network configurations, including NetWare. 

             Within WINNT the software is organized by language

             subdirectories supporting English, Czech, Deutsch, 

             Espanol, Francais, Italiano, Polski, Portuguese and Russian.

WFW       -- JetAdmin and Printer Utilities software for Windows for

             Workgroups.

OS2LAN    -- JetAdmin and Printer Utilities software for LAN Manager and

             LAN Server. 

Apple HFS Partition -- This partition is not visible to non-Apple users.

                       Software supports Apple networks in 9 languages.

Documents

This CD-ROM contains electronic versions of several HP JetDirect

technical manuals and other documents, in Adobe Acrobat (.PDF)

format. Technical manuals are included in the \DOCS directory,

under a subdirectory named for the language of the manuals

(Deutsch, English, Espanol, Francais, or Italiano). Product

information documents, such as solution guides and data sheets,

are available only in English, and are located in the PRODINFO

subdirectory.

You need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these documents. If 

you don't already have a copy of the Acrobat Reader on your 

system, you can get one from the \ACROREAD directory on this 

CD-ROM. For details, refer to the \ACROREAD\README.TXT file.

You can easily view the documents in your language by starting

the Acrobat Reader and opening the homepage file for your 

language. This file is named HOMEPGxx.PDF, where xx identifies 

the language, such as EN for English. The homepage file is

located in the language subdirectory under the \DOCS directory.

(For example, to read the documents in French, open the

HOMEPGFR.PDF file in the \DOCS\FRANCAIS directory.) Once you 

have opened the homepage file, you will see links to all of the

available documents; simply click on the name of the document you 

wish to view. For more details on viewing the documents, refer to

the \DOCS\README.TXT file.
