Awesome casting or trolling jerkbait that seems to be equally effective for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye, and pike. The thin wall plastic seems to give this bait a great sound and action that is just different than the others on the market. I've also used these quite a bit trolling for Trout and Salmon on Lake Michigan (Great Lakes) with good success.
I'm a hardcore bass angler and got turned on to Smithwick jerkbaits years ago when I found out how devastating the shallower runners are for smallmouth bass. So, I tried the deeper runners and was pleasantly surprised at how well they work for multiple species when cast or trolled along drops, weedlines, breaklines and even in open water for walleye. The Lacy Tiger (Firetiger) pattern has always been a favorite pattern for low light conditions and stained or dirty water. The walleye crush them, which is why I've stocked so many of that pattern.
The lure body is the same size as the classic 4 1/2" Smithwick Rogue. Just has the deep diver lip. This is a suspending jerkbait, so you can use those devastating pauses in colder water.
