Please view all photos & ask any questions you may have. Grading is not a science. The impact or the importance of flaws to a book can vary from person to person. I may feel a faint water stain on the back cover is minor where someone else feels it’s more of a major defect. What I may think is a 6.0 or 6.5 someone else may think it’s a 5.0 or 5.5. I try to note what I feel are the most notable of defects and give honest grade ranges. I’m not trying to hide anything, I just may think something is not as major as someone else. Please do not purchase if you disagree or like to debate grade ranges. Purchase professionally graded comics then. I see the poorly graded comics listed out there. Also it is not my concern how the book can possibly be improved or not improved by a pressing, cleaning or any other restoration. Thank you and sorry for the rant. And I really didn’t think I needed to address this but PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING then want to return it because you didn’t like it or it’s not what you expected. Look. Read. Ask questions. And don’t make up stuff about item not being vintage or authentic when you have no idea what you are talking about.
Offered up from my personal collection is a “RARE” AVENGERS #196. Published by Marvel Comics in 1980. Story by David Michelinie with “great” art & “classic” cover by “industry legend” George Perez. Origin & 1st full appearance Taskmaster. Vintage “KEY” AVENGERS issue and a “MUST HAVE” for any Marvel Comics, TASKMASTER and AVENGERS completist/collector.
In my estimation the book ranges in “NICE” (6.0) FINE to (6.5) FINE+ condition with medium cream pages. Moderate wear to cover, spine, corners & edges. Bend/couple ripples at bottom left corner, faint bend at bottom center edge, small crease at bottom right corner and book has minor age discoloration/staining/soiling. A very tight, sharp, bright & glossy looking copy. There are no other glaring flaws to note, that is not typical to books falling under the indicated grade ranges or visible in pictures. I am not a professional grader but grade very conservatively using The Overstreet Price Guide as reference and my 40+ years of comic book collecting/selling experience.
