From my personal collection of private recordings, you are bidding on audio CD’s of a live opera recording starring the great American opera stars BEVERLY SILLS and MARISA GALVANY. As the star singers of the New York City Opera, Sills and Galvany were involved in many of the most important opera productions, but there were few chances to sing together. Two years earlier they had a major success in this opera, and they were still at their peak for the 1974 NEW YORK CITY OPERA MARIA STUARDA, recorded in very good, clear, non-broadcast sound. Sills and Galvany are in great voice, reprising their roles and still bringing all the intensity that made for such a huge success two years earlier. They are joined by the excellent Italian lyric tenor TULLIO PANE in the high and difficult role of Roberto. The recording is complete on 2 Cd’s, has complete tracking, is on-pitch, and comes in a double jewel box (overseas packages will be sent without the jewel box).
