1985 Tokai Love Rock LS-50 in Black w/OHSC, Made in Japan, MIJ, Lawsuit, 8.6lbs

For sale is a beautiful example of an all-original 1985 Tokai Love Rock LS-50, featuring a sophisticated black finish and a stunning dark rosewood fretboard. This guitar comes complete with its originally supplied Tokai-branded, green-lined hard case.

Widely regarded as one of the finest vintage Japanese Les Paul models ever crafted, this Tokai LS-50 Love Rock mirrors the classic tonewoods of its Gibson-branded counterpart. It boasts a carefully selected “old-growth” African mahogany body and a ‘60s slim tapered long-tenon neck, a meticulously carved two-piece maple top, and original PAF-style humbuckers.

Considering its age, this guitar remains in fairly clean condition, showcasing minor cosmetic imperfections typical of a well-maintained instrument of its vintage. Light surface scratches are present throughout, as well as some buckle worming on the rear, and two paint chips near the upper strap button and the rear of the neck. These are superficial and consistent with careful play over its 39-year lifespan and have been pictured for reference, so please review them carefully.

The neck and fretboard exhibit a clean appearance, with some minor ring indents on the rear, while all 22 frets retain plenty of life. The original hardware and plastics are fully intact, and all stock electronics operate seamlessly, delivering the intended performance. Both PAF-style humbuckers retain their distinctive tone and power.

This one weighs in at a mere 8.6lbs.
