I installed 4 "C" batteries in each and tested these and they sound fantastic. Much better sound than expected.

Everything is in very good condition. 

Takes 8 "C" batteries total. No batteries included. Includes patch cord for connecting to your source.

Also includes a cable for connecting to a 6V power adapter which is not included.
