Batik Pants  - Made from lots and lots of individual patches sewn together. This is real patchwork and printed patchwork. Each patch is stitched to the next until the area it large enough to make the design.

Made by by a talented dressmaker (Ema) with whom we have built a successful and ongoing small business relationship. Her workshop is based in Bali, Indonesia.

These are made from patches of new batik material. Batik is an art form in itself in Indonesia.  Its a technique to dye fabrics using wax to create unique designs.  This item is made from new batik material but we also sell items made from increasingly rare vintage batik patches. you can spot the difference between old and new batik by the vibrancy of the colours. Vintage batik cloth is in more muted colours.

Original product picked by Terrapin Trading. We source all items in-person, in the country they are made.  We pay fair trade prices to our makers.
