Powys Mather's English edition of J. C. Mardrus original French translation was first published as The Book of Thousand Nights and One Night by the Casanova Society in 1923. A revised version of the text, first published by Routledge & Sons in 1937 and reprinted by The Folio Society in 1958, forms the basis of the present edition. This edition is published by arrangement with Routledge, a member of the Taylor & Francis Group.
Set in Garamond at The Folio Society, printed in Great Britain by the Bath Press on Clan Ivory wove paper, and bound by them in full cloth, blocked with a design by Roman Pisarev.
