ROAD HOUSE - A PLAY IN THREE ACTS

by Walter Hackett

Published by Samuel French, Ltd., London 1934

French's Acting Edition.  No. 1058

Title page has "Copyright, 1934, by Samuel French, Ltd." and no other dates.

One of the many plays of the prolific American-born playwright Walter Hackett.  This is an uncommon original Acting Edition, illustrated with black & white plates showing the stage sets.

A vintage used paperback book.  Green card covers, with titling in black to front and spine, publisher adverts to rear.  Colour is faded and the covers are darkened with age at the edges front and rear.  Spine very darkened.  A few small spots and marks mainly to the rear at the lower joint.  A little creasing and crinkling, more notably so at the corners.  Front bottom corner curled up.  Some light edge wear.  Title page has some staining and spotting.  Former owner's name in pencil at the top of the title page.  Some liquid staining evident in the prelims, more notably at the bottom edge of the frontispiece.  This light staining also evident at the foot of the other plates.  Pages are toned throughout, though not excessively so.  There is the occasional mark, but the pages overall look good and clean.  Some thumbing and evidence of handling.  Some bottom corners creased and curled.  A bumped indentation on the rear cover is evident in the latter pages, but no punctures.  Pages still tight.

Quite a substantial play - pp. 91.  Book measures approx.  8 1/2 x 5 1/2 ins.
