This TS-711A, like a LOT of older pieces of equipment, is working, BUT there are a couple issues! It works in all modes and I was able to bring up the local 2M repeater.  Display is fine.  Let's tune it: Turn the knob counterclockwise and down we go in frequency, as expected.  Turn the knob clockwise and ,,,,,,uh oh.... DOWN we go in frequency again!  I was so amazed by this phenomena I've never seen before, that I posted our first ever eBay video here so you can enjoy this incredible event yourself!
Power output looks a bit low, but the radio is hooked to a HF Wattmeter, and it always reads low on 2M ( but, curiously, WAY high on 440!!).
The other thing it likes to so is come on with a string of bogus frequency numbers along with a beeping sound. If this happens just turn the radio off, and turn it back on again while you push the A=B button, which resets the computer.
This radio had the voice board option which I removed and is being sold elsewhere on ebay. The repeater tone board is still there.
No other features (AKA bells and whistles) were tested so there could be (or maybe not) other gremlins at work.  No microphone is included.
Cosmetically it has some light wear/scratches on the cabinet.
Thanks to ebay/PayPal's current draconian policies regarding returns, we will no longer sell most items as working, but rather "officially" as parts, not working. Also, thanks to the same policies, we will no longer ship directly to any country other than the US. Any overseas buyers must buy thru the ebay shipping program.
Everything is sold AS-IS; NO WARRANTIES offered on anything.  The purchaser, upon receipt, might not agree as to our assessment of condition, but that's what it was HERE and it's being sold officially for parts or not working.  It may or may not work at all when you get it! NO RETURNS or REFUNDS! If you do not agree with these terms DO NOT BUY IT!
