As new, this is a beautiful pen. It writes smoothly with a good inkflow, and the italic nib helps add character to your writing. The pen uses normal ink, filling is by a piston mechanism - dip the nib into the ink (make sure the little hole is submerged) and twist the bottom of the pen gently counter-clockwise until resistance is felt, then screw the bottom of the pen clockwise to draw in the ink.
