Here is a Vintage Restored and Services Technics SL-230 Turntable.  This is a Belt-Driven, FULLY AUTOMATIC Turntable with a medium-weight Plinth. The Turntable features a machined Platter and Very Nice S-Shaped Technics Tonearm and is in EXCELLENT condition.  This Turntable uses Technics Servo Frequency Generator Technology in order to maintain consistent and predictable speed. The Frequency Generator System works by way of a continuous feedback loop to the DC Motor which allows the system to maintain speed. Technics Turntables are known for their speed maintenance ability and this SL-230 is no exception. It works quite well. The S-Shaped Tonearm is Static-Balanced with Anti-Skate. The Cue Lever (Tonearm Lift) uses an oil-damped mechanism and functions properly. It is equipped with a N.O.S. (New Old Stock) ADC QLM MKlll MM (Moving Magnet) Cartridge mounted on a pristine Technics Headshell (See Pic: # 11).  This FULLY AUTOMATIC Turntable has the ability to Repeat an album up to 6X. The sound characteristics are very detailed with tight bass and solid imaging throughout to the top end.  The Soundstage is very good and the Noise Floor is incredibly low when compared to many tables in its category. Wow and Flutter: 0.045% WRMS.  Rumble: 70 dB.  This is a great sounding Turntable.

The following is the work that was performed:

The unit has been thoroughly cleaned and all functions checked for proper operation. All caps and electronics were checked for wear and decay and have been determined to be in usable condition.  The FG Servo Drive Mechanism was checked, cleaned, and lubricated for proper operation and works as it should.  The tonearm mechanism was checked, cleaned, and lubricated for proper operation. The machined Platter was cleaned, checked for any defects and determined to be in fine condition. The Belt-Driven Motor Spindle was cleaned and lubricated to ensure proper performance (See Pic: #9). The motor is solid. The cover has been RESTORED to remove hairline scratches, scuffs, and any deep scratches.  Those remaining, while faint, are visible only in reflected light. It looks OUTSTANDING (See Pics: #20, #21).  The Dust Cover Hinges are in excellent condition.  This turntable comes equipped with an Audio Dynamics Corporation Cartridge and Stylus. It tracks at 2.5 grams, provides great sonics, and should sound great when joined with any existing system [See Pics: #12, #14)].  Speed was set on the turntable and subsequently calibrated for accuracy using a Robins ESK-5 Strobe Disc and Light Kit for 33 RPM and 45 RPM accuracy. As this SL-20 is a Technics turntable, the speed maintenance of this unit is SOLID.  The isolation feet are completely intact and show minimal acceptable wear. It should be noted there are some minor blemishes on the left front corner (See Pic. #18).  This does not affect performance in any way. 

To use: Push the Start Switch to the Right and the Turntable does the rest.  When the album is finished the Tonearm lifts from the records and Returns to its Cradle. It may also be used Manually if desired.

In all, as demonstrated by the pictures, this is a very clean Technics Direct Drive Automatic Turntable in near perfect condition. It maintains consistent speed, tracks correctly, looks fantastic and sounds the same. This Turntable is a worthy choice for those seeking a quality Reliable, Serviced, Fully Automatic Turntable that looks close to NEW.
