In the late 1980s, wishing to diversify the Lada brand export range, importers in Western European countries attempted to create an open version of the Lada of Samara. And in 1990, the Belgian company Skaldia-Volga, engaged in the supply of Soviet cars abroad, made the Lada Natasha cabriolet (in some markets - Lada Natacha).
For the appearance of "Natasha" was answered by Tolyatti designer Vladimir Yartsev, sent together in colleagues on a business trip to Belgium. A small-scale production of cars was carried out by specialized body companies in Belgium and Germany. Until 1995, about 450 copies of the model were made.
