GAZ-13 "Chaika" - a Soviet representative car of a large class, produced a small series at the Gorky Automobile Plant from 1959 to 1981.
The first running model was assembled in 1957; all in all, 3179 cars of this model were manufactured.
Assigned GAZ 13 (M-13) name "Chaika", it was symbolic, since the car was intended for the needs of officials and high-ranking officials. And since the Gorky plant had already produced the Volga, the Seagulls had to float above them. The GAZ-13 was produced before 1981, and in total it was produced in 1959 3,189 vehicles. Cases when the "Chaika" fell into private hands can be counted on the fingers. As a gift from Khrushchev, the Seagulls went to revolutionary Fidel Castro, writer Mikhail Sholokhov, the first woman cosmonaut Valenitna Tereshkova and ballerina Galina Ulanova.
