What are Strategy Guides?

Before the Internet changed the way videogames were sold, designed, and played, most games had one or more official or unofficial strategy guide books available to purchase separately. These books usually included complete game walk-throughs, as well as strategies for completing all in-game goals or objectives. They also often included maps of levels, cheat codes, and other material such as character overviews and developer interviews. These strategy guides are now often hard to find, especially for games over 10 years old. For players like me, the guide was often an important part of owning the game, whether or not I used it. I'm happy to offer this guide to you to help complete your classic game collection!
