DEATH WAS THE BRIDEGROOM, Charles Samuels (1955)
Gold Medal 466. 1st Edition, 1st Printing (PBO)

Very Good vintage condition. Binding is tight and pages are clean and intact. Age-toning to pages and inside covers. No markings and minimal shelfwear. Corner creases on back cover and rubbing along edges of spine. Faint bookstore stamp on front fly leaf. This is a nice original copy of a mid-century crime novel that was derived from the real-life murder case of Grace Brown in upstate New York. Wonderfully ominous cover art is by pulp painter Barye Phillips.
