In this seminal horror anthology movie, a writer is hired by a wax museum curator to write stories about some of his chamber of horrors exhibitions, including Jack the Ripper, Ivan the Terrible and the Caliph of Baghdad to drum up custom. 

This inspired a whole sub-genre of waxworks set horror movies over the years from Mystery of the Wax Museum to House of Wax (originally made in the 1950s in 3D with Vincent Price, then reinvented in the 21st century with Jared Palecki from TV's Supernatural, Elisha Cuthbert from TV's 24 and of course Paris Hilton). Others have included Nightmare in Wax (Cameron Mitchell) Terror in the Wax Museum (Ray Milland) and a couple of 1980s classics starring Zack Galligan - Waxworks and Waxworks II...and even one of the segments in one of the classic Amicus anthology horrors, The House That Dripped Blood which starred Peter Cushing. Plus several more.
