The Leyland Cypress is a fast-growing evergreen tree. The tree's dense growth and tall height make it a great choice for creating a border shade that blocks unwanted sights and reduces neighborhood noise. The tree grows 3 ft. to 5 ft. per year after rooted and reaches a height of about 60 ft. to 70 ft. and a spread of 15 ft. to 25 ft. The Leyland is drought tolerant and hardy in Zones 6-10. The Leyland should be planted in full sun but can tolerate most types of soil, as long as they are well-drained.
