DATING TO THE VICTORIAN 19TH CENTURY
FASHIONED OF A SATIN STRIPED FRONT THAT IS PRINTED WITH A BEAUTIFUL FEATHER AND FLORAL DETAILING ALL THROUGHOUT THE STRIPES WITH A CHOCOLATE BROWN SILK FAILLE AT SIDES AND REAR.
HEAVY RUCHED PLEATING IS SEEN ALL ALONG THE TOP FRONT WITH BOX PLEATS AT THE SIDES AND IS POLISHED COTTON IN THE REAR WITH THE BACK SKIRT COMING UP OVER, GATHERED IN RUCHING AT THE REAR BUSTLE WITH POLISHED COTTON WAISTBAND ENCIRCLING TO CLOSE IN THE FRONT.
THE INNER HEM IS LINED IN A GLAZED STIFF COTTON.
CONDITION: SOME SMALL SPOT STAINING AND DARKENED AGE COLOR SEEN ON THE TAN STRIPES IN SMALL POINTS, MOST ARE HARD TO NOTE BUT THERE IS A HAND SIZED AREA THAT IS MORE PRONOUNCED ON THE LEFT SIDE. WAISTLINE EDGE OF THE TOP HAS SMALL FEATHERED FRAY, I BELIEVE ONCE TRIMMED IN COTTON AND REMOVED.
TWO SPOTS OF TINY FEATHERED HOLES ON FOLD POINTS OF THE REAR SKIRT, VERY HARD TO NOTE. HOOK AND EYES NEEDED ON THE WAISTBAND.
