Up for sale is a vintage Electrodyne Quality Motoring Accessories catalog from the spring of 1980. This catalog (along with quite a few others that I'm still in the process of listing up for sale) was found in a drawer and belonged to a family member who is no longer with us, so for all intents and purposes; this listing is part of an ongoing online estate sale of sorts.
The catalog exhibits some minor wear on it; appearing mostly in the form of yellowing/spotting on the pages and the cover as well as some visible crease marks brought on by overall age and general storage that can be found throughout the front and rear covers, and along the spline as well. There are also a few pages where the corners of the pages are slightly bent, but it's only minor wear really. The catalog still even has its original business reply mail inserts stapled to the spline on the inside. The only other bit of wear (if you can call it that) appears on the back cover, where the remnants of the original recipient address label sticker can be spotted. Most of that label was purposely ripped off as most of the original sticker had begun to fall off by that point. You can still see the original adhesive spots on there in that area, but it's really not that serious... just the usual that one would expect from a publication of this vintage.
This catalog consists of 86 numbered pages; which are pretty nice high quality prints that seem to fall somewhere between regular newsprint and very high gloss pages; kind of like semi-gloss more or less. Most of them have aged a bit from age, but are still in pretty good shape; all things considered. The one thing that sticks out at me is that there's a picture of a driver or a passenger in a racing suit on page 8 that looks remarkably a lot like
Anthony Kiedis; the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers (see picture #8).
While this catalog may not be the most sought
after parts catalog for a Porsche enthusiast, it is vintage at least; and thus collectible in my opinion... I figure it may hold some type of intrinsic
value or maybe even some nostalgia for some Porsche aficionados
and/or magazine collectors alike; hence the reason why I'm pricing it to
move, so please be sure to get in on this deal while it still lasts,
for my loss is your gain as they say in the trade.
