Up for auction this week is a nice, rather rare piece of obsidian rough from Glass Buttes Oregon. This rough came from the original fire pit and was stored for years in a rather large collection of Obsidian of a local rockhound in Boise who was very active in that area in the 70s.

Rough has been shaped and rubbed to about ~600 grit to within a .5mm+ of the ribbon's surface. Most of the photos and video show the rock wet so that you can see the fire ribbon inside. This is rough, it needs to be finished, polished.

This piece has two fire ribbons sitting one atop the other and they meander across the natural wavy surface of the stone - no flat lap or traditional wheels on this one. Looks like a job for a dremel or similar.

Enjoy :)

Thank you, good luck, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
